DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS




Department of physics was established in the year 2002.Currently, the department offers B.Sc physics programme.Department of physics aims to equip people who are oriented towards recent areas of physics. We pride ourselves and providing quality education in a friendly, relaxed and blossoming environment.
OBJECTIVES
The objective of the Department is the development of the student’s personality, knowledge, skills, abilities and values by promoting study in Physics.
LABORATORY
Demonstrate the fundamental principles of Physics. Develop and improve their experimental techniques and data analysis. Gain and enhance student understanding of basic Physics concepts through direct observation of empirical evidence and hands-on learning. Understand the role of direct observation in Physics.

We train the students to cultivate vegetables (with no artificial fertilizers) in the college campus itself through EDC credit base system.
CURRICULUM
A candidate of B.Sc physics programmed should take 16 hard core course and 4 allied papers (Maths & Chemistry) compulsory. N.S.S, E.D.C (Entrepreneurships Development cell) Y.R.C, R.R.C and skill based Elective, Non-other major elective all are in progress.
ELIGIBILITY
The B.Sc. Physics course is open to students who have passed the Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary or equivalent examination, having taken Physics as compulsory and Mathematics as optional.
FUTURE PLANS

To conduct National and International conferences / workshops in current research areas and topics of emerging trends.

To start short time certificate / diploma courses apart from the regular course offered.

Start coaching classes for NET/CSIR/SLET and other competitive examinations.

To develop e-learning, e-based teaching techniques.

On the whole to train young minds of women in fundamental and frontier areas of physics.
