ACTIVITIES OF IQAC OF MOTHER TERESA WOMEN’S UNIVERSITY COLLEGE

The IQAC of Mother Teresa Women’s University College organized an interaction session with the exchange students of Liverpool University, United Kingdom. Students of our college discussed with them on a lot of issues related to their culture, lifestyle, language and education system.
In the State level Yoga competition which was held in Coimbatore, students of our college participated and they own prizes.
The programme “Clean Kodai” was organized by Wild Life Sanctuary in which students along with our Principal and Staff participated and insisted students to keep Kodai clean and to replace the plastics. “Clean India Programme” was conducted by our College and our students involved in cleaning the environment.
Our college students participated in Life Skill Programme conducted by Mr.Jegan and Mr. Arun from Madurai. They motivate the students through their valuable speech in an innovative way.
Students participated in Dengue Awareness Programme in which Mr.Thangaraj, Health Inspector gave away his speech regarding healthy life that is the wealth of our life.
Aids Awareness Programme was held in our College where our District superindent Mrs. Jesintha gave a beneficial speech.
IQAC meets and discusses to sustain and enhance the quality and the standard of the college. The suggestion of IQAC is conveyed to the Principal through the President and the Secretary of the college and actions have been taken regarding that. The decisions taken in the IQAC meeting are approved by the Principal.
Students support IQAC through their valuable suggestions and feedback about the teachers, library, hostel and other requirements they need academically. Students represent several committees in the college and they contribute to the effective functioning of the IQAC.
IQAC has representatives from all departments. The representatives send reports to the IQAC. The decision and the action of IQAC are informed to all staff through circular and email.
The college provides training to the staff for the effective implementation of quality assurance by participating in IQAC related workshops, seminars and training programs. The institution considers suggestions given by Academic audit council and interdepartmental staff. The actions have been taken to improve the teaching- learning process in the staff meeting.
IQAC suggest modern teaching and learning methods. Expectations of external quality assurance agencies like UGC, NAAC, University and Directorate of Collegiate education are discussed in IQAC and steps are taken to suit the requirements of these external agencies. IQAC executes the plan along with the Heads of the Departments and it is monitored by the Principal.
The IQAC reviews the teaching–learning process methodologically. The result is scrutinized by the Head of the Department after semester examination. The students who performed poorly in the examination are identified by the concerned course teacher and it is rectified by the teacher. The results are reviewed in the Department meetings and Staff council meetings. The feedback from the students provides valuable information.
The College communicates its quality assurance policies and mechanisms through daily assembly, periodic review meetings, parents and teachers meetings and website.
Apart from academic and research activities, the teachers are committed to various extension programs like NSS, YRC and RRC. The teachers’ network with rotary club and lions club are facilitated the college to be a eco friendly and clean environment. Students participated in various competitions which proved their multifaceted and meritorious skills.
